Tengrinews.kz – President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Nenad Lalovic, President of the United World Wrestling. Tokayev emphasized that wrestling is a significant sport that plays a crucial role in strengthening Kazakhstan’s position on the international sports stage. He also praised the achievements of Kazakhstani wrestlers, who have performed successfully at major global tournaments, according to Akorda.
The head of state highlighted Kazakhstan’s commitment to strengthening strategic cooperation with the United World Wrestling. He stated that expanding infrastructure, implementing advanced training methods, and hosting international tournaments in Kazakhstan would contribute to the growth in popularity and competitiveness of the sport.
Nenad Lalovic thanked Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for the warm reception and expressed his readiness to continue cooperation. He called Kazakhstan an important partner of the federation and noted the impressive progress of the national wrestling school. According to him, Kazakhstan’s dedication to building a healthy nation helps achieve high results in sports and other fields.
During the meeting, they discussed prospects for strengthening Kazakhstan’s position in the global sports community and further promoting wrestling as a priority sport.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the head of state awarded the President of the United World Wrestling the "Dostyk" Order, 2nd degree, for his contribution to the development of wrestling in Kazakhstan.
Earlier, the Head of State received the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Peter Szijjarto, who arrived in Astana on an official visit.
