Tengrinews.kz - President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Tajikistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sirojiddin Muhriddin, who arrived in Astana on an official visit, according to a statement from Akorda.
During the meeting, Tokayev highlighted the steady positive momentum in Kazakhstan-Tajikistan relations across a wide range of areas and emphasized the importance of further deepening strategic partnership.
In this regard, he pointed to last year’s signing of the Treaty on Allied Relations, marking a new milestone in the multifaceted and fruitful cooperation between Astana and Dushanbe.
"We highly value our friendly relations with Tajikistan, with which we have no unresolved issues. The people of Kazakhstan have a special affinity for the brotherly Tajik nation. Our countries have always supported each other, and today, this is reflected in our commitment to actively developing bilateral ties," Tokayev stated.
The president also acknowledged Tajik President Emomali Rahmon’s significant contribution to strengthening Kazakh-Tajik relations.
For his part, Sirojiddin Muhriddin noted that Kazakhstan and Tajikistan have built mutually beneficial relations over the years of their sovereign development, continuously advancing in the spirit of friendship and alliance.
"Tajikistan highly values its close fraternal ties with Kazakhstan. Your country is one of our key partners, and we have a full mutual understanding of all aspects of bilateral cooperation. Last year was a landmark for our relations, which have now reached the level of an alliance," the minister said.

The Tajik diplomat conveyed warm greetings from President Emomali Rahmon to Tokayev and reaffirmed Tajikistan’s commitment to further strengthening comprehensive cooperation with Kazakhstan.
The two officials also discussed the implementation of agreements previously reached at the highest level, with a particular focus on expanding cooperation in economy, trade, transit, digitalization, education, and culture.
Additionally, the meeting covered regional security, water and energy cooperation, and joint measures to ensure the sustainable development of Central Asia.
