Tokayev met with experts in AI

Tengrinews.kz - The Head of State held a meeting with experts in the field of artificial intelligence, according to an Akorda statement.

During a working visit to the UAE, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took part in a meeting with experts on the development of artificial intelligence (AI).

Speaking to the participants of the event, the Head of State noted that AI is one of the key driving forces of modern progress and is capable of radically changing the economy.

"Kazakhstan is taking significant steps to create a solid foundation for the advancement of AI. The emphasis is on the formation of an institutional framework, infrastructure and the development of human capital. As part of the institutional structure, we are creating an International Advisory Council on Artificial Intelligence, which will operate under my leadership. This council will become a strategic platform for dialogue and exchange of views with world experts, bringing together engineers, researchers and entrepreneurs to develop recommendations for national AI policy and strengthen international cooperation," the President said.

As Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized, the key priority for Kazakhstan in the field of AI is the training and support of highly qualified specialists. According to him, the success of AI implementation directly depends on the qualifications and experience of those who develop and use these technologies.

The Head of State also said that the AlemAI advanced technology center has been created in Kazakhstan, which will unite the best world practices and facilitate the implementation of innovative solutions.

He noted that the center will become a hub for the implementation of AI-related initiatives, including educational programs for schools, universities and vocational training centers, research centers, offices for startups and companies, as well as platforms for sharing experiences and best practices.

"In the field of education, we presented the innovative Al-Sana program, which is designed to promote the development of human capital in the field of AI. The program provides interdisciplinary training for specialists from different industries and promotes the development of advanced solutions in the field of AI," the President added.

In conclusion, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that Kazakhstan strives to become an active participant in the global artificial intelligence ecosystem and called on the participants of the event to cooperate in various areas: from scientific research to the establishment of ethical standards.

President Tokayev arrived in the UAE on January 13 for a working visit.

He was welcomed at Abu Dhabi airport by UAE Vice President Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan and other officials. During his visit, Tokayev held a meeting with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the Qasr Al Shatie Palace. Tokayev emphasized that the UAE remains a key partner for Kazakhstan in the Arab world.

During his speech at the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week summit, Tokayev unveiled an ambitious strategy focused on sustainable development.

On January 15, President Tokayev met with top executives of major Arab companies.
