Tengrinews.kz - President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Helen Clark, Chair of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI), according to a statement from Akorda.
During the meeting, President Tokayev emphasized Kazakhstan's commitment to EITI standards since joining the organization in 2007. He noted that national legislation mandates subsoil users to comply with the initiative's requirements and provide detailed reports on taxes and other payments to the state budget.

"The President informed the EITI Chair about regulatory measures being implemented in the geological exploration and extraction sectors. These include the adoption of a comprehensive industry development plan, the launch of a unified subsoil use platform with an interactive map and over 50,000 geological reports, and the simplification of licensing processes for exploration and extraction activities," Akorda's press service stated.
Helen Clark outlined the organization’s strategic plans and key priorities for the coming period. She also praised Kazakhstan’s efforts to improve subsoil use legislation in line with transparency standards in the extractive industries.
Earlier, President Tokayev visited the Bolashak mine in Khromtau.
