Tengrinews.kz - President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, who arrived in Astana on an official visit, according to a statement from Akorda.
Welcoming the guest, President Tokayev emphasized the importance of the meeting in further strengthening the multifaceted relations between the two countries.
"Your visit is of great significance in advancing our cooperation with our brotherly Azerbaijan. Our relations with Azerbaijan are of utmost importance to us. We regard your country as a reliable strategic partner and ally," the President stated.
For his part, Bayramov expressed gratitude for the traditionally warm reception and highlighted the dynamic development of bilateral ties.
"On this occasion, Jeyhun Bayramov conveyed the appreciation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and the Azerbaijani people to Kazakhstan for its prompt assistance following the tragic crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines plane in Aktau," Akorda’s press service noted.
The meeting covered discussions on major strategic projects, including the construction of a fiber-optic communication line and a deepwater power cable along the Caspian Sea seabed.

The two sides also explored prospects for further cooperation in trade, investment, digitalization, transit, and transportation.
In November 2024, Tokayev visited Baku for the COP29 World Climate Action Summit under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. During the visit, he held meetings with heads of state, leaders of international organizations, and business representatives.
