Tokayev meets head of Swiss National Bank’s governing board

Tengrinews.kz - President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with Martin Schlegel, Chairman of the Governing Board of the Swiss National Bank, according to Akorda.

During the meeting, the sides discussed prospects for further cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Swiss National Bank.

“Kassym-Jomart Tokayev praised the technical assistance provided by Swiss experts to the National Bank of Kazakhstan in areas such as risk management and payment systems,” the statement reads.

For his part, Martin Schlegel expressed his intention to establish a structured dialogue and expand cooperation between the national banks of Kazakhstan and Switzerland in the fields of monetary policy and digital finance.

“The parties also addressed issues related to strengthening the foreign exchange market, building trust in national currencies, and developing digital assets,” Akorda noted.
