Tengrinews.kz – Kassym-Jomart Tokayev delivered a speech in Astana at the dialogue platform of rural akims.
During his speech, the President emphasized that a digital Kazakhstan cannot be built without villages and rural districts.
“For rural district akims to fully implement their expanded powers and increase tax revenues, they must be able to use the relevant information platforms effectively. A digital Kazakhstan cannot be built without villages and rural districts. In the era of artificial intelligence and total digitalization, rural akims must be actively involved in this process,” the President said.
He stressed that digitalizing rural areas will significantly reduce the gap in living standards and everyday life between village and city residents. Therefore, the government must view this work as a priority.
“Reliable and prompt information from the field allows efficient decision-making at the center, forms the foundation of a knowledge-based economy, and ensures the fair distribution of resources. Transforming Kazakhstan into a fully digital country within the next three years is one of the most important tasks of the new stage of development. Our nation’s place in the future world depends on this. Therefore, this is, without exaggeration, a matter of survival,” Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted during his speech.
He emphasized that Kazakhstan needs to accelerate technological modernization and recalled that earlier this week, U.S. President Donald Trump announced a strategic initiative aimed at ensuring America’s unquestioned global dominance in the technological sphere.
“For this purpose, a unified artificial intelligence platform is being created – essentially a national super-brain – which will integrate scientific laboratories, data centers, digital models, and a network of supercomputers. This system is intended to drive breakthroughs in the development of new technologies and materials in all critically important areas: from semiconductors to robotics, from nuclear energy to biomedicine. This is not just a research project, but a comprehensive platform designed to ensure the global leadership of the United States in this sphere,” the President of Kazakhstan said.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that Kazakhstan does not aspire to global leadership, but at the same time must accelerate technological modernization so as not to be left on the sidelines of progress.
