Tengrinews.kz – During his speech at the plenary session of the August Conference of Teachers, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed that the introduction of AI into the educational process be accelerated, citing Akorda.

In his address, the President emphasized that the world has entered a new technological era, the main hallmarks of which are the rapid development of innovations and the adoption of artificial intelligence.

“Therefore, the concepts of a ‘progressive nation’ and a ‘technological nation’ are now synonymous.
Our task is to adapt to global trends. To achieve this, it is crucial to accelerate the digital transformation of the education system. Further digitalization and the integration of artificial intelligence can make a decisive contribution to overcoming educational inequality and significantly improving the quality of learning,” the Head of State said.

The President stressed that today more than 95 percent of schools in Kazakhstan have access to high-speed internet, noting that this figure must be brought to 100 percent.

Tokayev noted that satellite systems could be used for this purpose, emphasizing that this is not merely a technical matter of equal access to infrastructure, but an extremely important ideological principle of social justice.

“Innovative approaches open up opportunities for the full participation of children with special needs in the educational process, creating conditions for an inclusive learning environment. In our country, key services related to admission to schools and colleges, as well as transfers from one school to another, have been digitalized. The Bilim service operates within the e-Government mobile application, which consolidates all up-to-date information on the education system,” Kassym-Jomart Tokayev added.

The President pointed out that the government and regional governors (akims) must give special attention to solving these tasks.

“But there is still much work ahead. We cannot relax. The government and akims must pay particular attention to addressing these issues. In particular, educational institutions should be equipped with the necessary interactive equipment. It is important to provide all schoolchildren with access to digital platforms containing learning content, including electronic textbooks. All materials must undergo thorough examination,” the President said.

Tokayev stressed that one of the priority tasks is to purposefully teach children AI technologies from an early age, as these skills will be the key to their competitiveness in the modern world.

“The same applies to teachers — a teacher must not only have a good command of their subject but also be able to apply new technologies in their teaching practice. Overall, we must fully utilize the potential of digitalization and artificial intelligence to take the education system to a fundamentally new level. I am confident that you will be at the forefront of the country’s technological modernization and will make every effort to transform our society into a truly progressive and developed nation,” the Head of State declared.
