Tengrinews.kz - President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev awarded a group of Kazakh citizens for their efforts in mitigating the consequences of the plane crash in Aktau, according to a statement from Akorda.

"President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev awarded a large group of Kazakh citizens who demonstrated courage, professionalism, and civic responsibility in rescuing passengers of the Azerbaijani airline Azal, whose plane crashed in the Mangystau region," the statement said.

The honorees include employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, medical workers, police officers, employees of the Mangystau Regional Electric Grid Company, and staff of Aktau International Airport.

By presidential decree, Aibek Alibaev, a forensic expert from the Mangystau Region Police Department, was awarded the "Aibyn" (Valor) Order, 2nd Class, named after Baurzhan Momyshuly. Serikbolat Ongar, commander of Fire Station No. 12 in the village of Baskudyk, Mangystau Region, received the "Aibyn" Order, 3rd Class, named after Rakhimzhan Koshkarbayev. Bakytzhan Koibekov, head of the center at the Mangystau Regional Multidisciplinary Hospital, and Irina Kochergina, head of the medical station at Aktau International Airport, were awarded the "Kurmet" (Honor) Order.

"Paramedic Timur Kisaev from the Mangystau Regional Emergency Medical Service Station, Ospan Orazbekov, a doctor from the Disaster Medicine Center in the Mangystau Region, Yaroslav Tolstikov, a dispatcher at the Aktau branch of KazAeroNavigation, and Nurali Chopanov, a master at the Mangystau Regional Electric Grid Company, were awarded the 'For Heroism' medal. Bekbolat Zhumagulov, Deputy Head of Service at Aktau International Airport, and Eldar Urazaliev, a specialist from the Center for Forensic Expertise in the Mangystau Region, were awarded the 'For Distinguished Service' medal," Akorda's statement said.

Fifty-one individuals received the President's commendation.
