Tengrinews.kz - President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week summit, according to Akorda's press service.

Tokayev underscored Kazakhstan's commitment to strengthening comprehensive cooperation with Nigeria, Africa’s most populous country with 229 million people (as of 2022) and one of the continent's largest economies.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu expressed readiness to work together in elevating bilateral relations to a new level.

In this regard, Tokayev extended an invitation for the Nigerian leader to visit Kazakhstan for an official visit.

The two leaders discussed prospects for developing cooperation in trade, economy, transport and logistics, energy, and agriculture.

They also exchanged views on pressing international issues, highlighting the importance of enhancing collaboration through multilateral platforms.

President Tokayev arrived in the UAE on January 13 for a working visit. He was welcomed at Abu Dhabi airport by UAE Vice President Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan and other officials. During his visit, Tokayev held a meeting with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the Qasr Al Shatie Palace. Tokayev emphasized that the UAE remains a key partner for Kazakhstan in the Arab world.
