Tengrinews.kz - President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held talks with the Mongolian leader during his official visit to Mongolia.
Expressing gratitude for the warm welcome, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized the significance of his first visit to Mongolia as head of state. He noted that Mongolia is one of Kazakhstan's key partners, sharing deep-rooted historical and cultural ties.
"Dear President, I have come to Mongolia for a state visit at your invitation. It is a great honor for me and all delegation members. Today, we will sign important bilateral documents, including a Joint Declaration on establishing a strategic partnership. I am convinced this step will enhance cooperation at all levels and open new avenues for the development of our two nations," said Tokayev.
Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh expressed confidence that Tokayev's state visit would elevate bilateral cooperation to a new level.
"Indeed, it has been about 30 years since diplomatic relations were established between our countries, and this state visit comes 16 years later. Our country views your visit as a foundation for defining the prospects and directions of our bilateral cooperation in the near future. Your visit is of special importance, as it elevates our relations to a new level—namely, a level of strategic partnership," said the Mongolian president.
During the substantive discussions, the leaders focused on the prospects for political, trade-economic, and investment cooperation. They discussed collaboration in agriculture, the mining and metallurgical complex, energy, transportation and logistics, and finance.
President Tokayev highlighted the importance of effectively implementing joint projects and signed documents. They also exchanged views on pressing international and regional issues, including cooperation within multilateral frameworks.
At the end of the meeting, the Mongolian President presented Tokayev with a Kazakh-Mongolian dictionary containing over 60,000 entries.
