Tengrinews.kz - Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has emphasized the importance of combating drug trafficking in the country, calling it one of the most pressing national challenges.
Speaking on the issue at the fourth session of the National Kurultai, Tokayev noted that work on matters crucial to Kazakhstan’s future must continue without interruption.
"This year marks the end of the Comprehensive Plan to Combat Drug Abuse and Drug Trafficking, which was introduced in 2023. It is clear that such a document is essential for us. Fighting this social evil is one of our top priorities. Therefore, the preparation of a new plan should begin immediately," the president stated.
Previously, the National Security Committee reported the disruption of a drug trafficking channel.
