In April, President Tokayev held a separate meeting with Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, National Bank Chairman Timur Suleimenov, and other officials to discuss the economic situation amid falling global prices for energy and key commodities due to tariff conflicts.
At that time, Tokayev instructed the government and regional authorities to urgently finalize an action plan to respond to the financial and economic crisis, aiming to sustain growth and attract investment.
