Tengrinews.kz – President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has awarded Italian President Sergio Mattarella the Order of Dostyk (Friendship), 1st Class, in recognition of his exceptional contribution to strengthening friendship and cooperation between the two countries, according to Akorda.
The head of state emphasized that this award is a symbol of the Kazakh people’s sincere respect and a testament to the friendly and warm feelings toward the Italian people.
Speaking at the award ceremony, President Tokayev praised the Italian president as a respected global leader who enjoys strong public support.
"You have made a significant contribution to the development and prosperity of your country. Today, Italy has achieved great success in all areas and ranks among the world’s leading nations. Innovative projects are being implemented in the economy and technology. Important initiatives are being pursued in ecology and green energy. The rich history and unique cultural heritage of your country are a treasure for all humanity. Italy plays an important role in ensuring regional and global security and is actively involved in solving international issues. All this is the result of your balanced policies. I am confident that under your leadership, Italy will reach new heights," the President said.
Tokayev also emphasized Mattarella’s role in deepening Kazakh-Italian relations.
"Our political dialogue is developing at a high level. Trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian ties are steadily strengthening. We have built close cooperation within multilateral structures. I especially value your efforts in this direction. Thanks to our joint efforts, the friendship between our nations will continue to grow stronger. I am convinced that the agreements reached during today’s talks will give a new impetus to our strategic partnership. We are ready to work together on this path," the President said.
In return, Sergio Mattarella awarded Kassym-Jomart Tokayev Italy’s highest state decoration – the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.
"This is the highest honor of our country, awarded exclusively to heads of state who have contributed to strengthening friendship with Italy. I deeply appreciate your efforts to ensure international order and maintain peace. You are also actively involved in developing long-term cooperation between Italy and Kazakhstan, and for that, we are grateful to you. This award, which I have the honor of presenting to you, reflects recognition of your services to our Republic," said the Italian president.
President Tokayev expressed sincere gratitude, stating that it was a great honor to receive Italy’s highest state award from President Sergio Mattarella.
