Tengrinews.kz - President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, as well as all Orthodox Christians, on the upcoming Easter holiday, according to a statement from Akorda.
Tokayev highlighted the significant contribution of the Orthodox Church to promoting traditional and family values, educating the younger generation, and preserving the country’s rich cultural heritage.
On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of his service in Kazakhstan and in recognition of his efforts to strengthen peace and harmony, the President awarded Metropolitan Alexander the Order of Dostyk, First Class.
The Order of Dostyk is a state award of Kazakhstan, presented to individuals for their fruitful work in promoting mutual understanding in society and their contributions to strengthening peace, friendship, and cooperation between peoples.

Previously, President Tokayev signed a decree on awarding scientists for outstanding achievements in the field of science and technology.
