In the joint statement, the Head of State congratulated the King on the 25th anniversary of his ascension to the throne, which was celebrated last year. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highlighted His Majesty’s wise leadership, which has enabled the implementation of large-scale reforms in political, socio-economic, administrative, and other areas.

In turn, King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein expressed his support for Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s international initiatives and the reforms being carried out in Kazakhstan aimed at modernizing the economy, improving public administration, ensuring the rule of law, and promoting social justice.

The heads of state reaffirmed the importance of further strengthening bilateral relations based on shared values and interests, expressing their mutual commitment to maintaining a comprehensive dialogue at all levels.

"The statement emphasizes the need to deepen mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation in areas such as energy, agriculture, infrastructure, information technology, manufacturing, and pharmaceuticals. Agreements have been reached to explore new opportunities to strengthen trade and economic ties and create favorable conditions for the implementation of joint projects in various sectors. The parties also confirmed their readiness to expand cooperation in the nuclear industry," Akorda’s press service noted.

The importance of developing transport and logistics routes, including within the framework of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, was highlighted as a means to strengthen trade and economic ties between the two countries. Both parties expressed a mutual interest in exploring prospects for implementing various projects in these areas and considering the possibility of establishing direct air connections between the two countries to foster tourism and enhance business interactions.

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein agreed to expand cooperation in education, including student and faculty exchanges, the development of joint educational programs, and scientific research. They also reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cultural ties through joint events, such as exhibitions and cultural days, which will help strengthen the bonds of friendship between the peoples.

Both sides expressed their willingness to hold joint cultural and business events in 2025 to mark the 20th anniversary of the twinning of Astana and Amman, including festivals, exhibitions, and exchanges of experience in sustainable development and technology.

The heads of state noted with satisfaction the productive nature of their negotiations, which will give new momentum to bilateral relations and elevate them to a qualitatively new level.

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein instructed their governments to regularly hold meetings of the Kazakhstan-Jordan Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Cultural, and Humanitarian Cooperation and to intensify the activities of the Business Council to identify promising areas for trade, economic, and investment collaboration.

The parties also exchanged views on international and regional issues, including the situation in the Middle East.

In the presence of the heads of state, members of the official delegations signed the following documents:

  • Memorandum of Understanding on Industrial Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan;
  • Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Peaceful Use of Nuclear Energy between the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Jordan Atomic Energy Commission;
  • Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Supply of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan;
  • Cooperation Agreement between JSC "National Company Samruk-Kazyna" and the Ministry of Investment of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan;
  • Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between the Republican State Enterprise "Television and Radio Complex of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan" under the Presidential Administration of Kazakhstan and the Jordan Radio and Television Corporation.

Additionally, as part of the official visit of the Head of State to Jordan, 10 interdepartmental and commercial documents were signed.

It is worth noting that on February 19, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held talks with King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of Jordan.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed his appreciation to the Jordanian leader for his contribution to strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

According to him, Jordan enjoys international recognition for its unwavering commitment to peace and stability.
