Tengrinews.kz - President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of Jordan continued their negotiations in an expanded format with members of the official delegations present, citing Akorda.
The Head of State emphasized that Kazakhstan attaches great importance to the development of mutually beneficial cooperation with Jordan.
“We highly value your sincere commitment to strengthening bilateral relations. I would especially like to highlight your wise and visionary leadership, as well as your exceptional role in ensuring peace and stability both in the region and globally. Thanks to your efforts, Jordan has become a pillar of stability in the Middle East. Your consistent course of fostering dialogue and cooperation has strengthened the Kingdom’s authority on the international stage. I warmly recall my first official visit as President of Kazakhstan to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in February this year. I am confident that your current visit will give additional momentum to our cooperation, strengthen ties, and open the way to a new stage of partnership,” said President Tokayev.
He stressed that Kazakhstan and Jordan are united not only by political and economic interests but also by centuries-old common values such as religion, traditions of tolerance, and mutual respect. Both countries, he noted, have shown the world how different cultures and faiths can coexist peacefully and contribute to human progress.
For his part, King Abdullah II expressed his deep appreciation for the friendship between the two nations.

“Today’s meeting reaffirms our shared commitment to strengthening cooperation and deepening bilateral ties in various areas. Our previous talks resulted in the signing of several important agreements and memorandums. I am confident that today’s arrangements and their successful implementation will provide a solid foundation for expanding our partnership,” the King said.
Tokayev recalled that during the earlier talks in Amman, the two sides set a goal to increase trade turnover to $500 million. Kazakhstan is prepared to expand exports to the Jordanian market, offering 60 types of non-commodity goods worth a total of $250 million.
The President also voiced support for cooperation between the national company Kazatomprom and the Jordan Uranium Mining Company (JUMCO) in developing the nuclear industry.
He informed the Jordanian delegation about Kazakhstan’s initiatives to expand the international transport and logistics network, suggesting the joint development of intermodal transportation between Central Asia and the Middle East.

Significant potential, he noted, also exists in agriculture, tourism, and digitalization.
The Jordanian side, in turn, offered its expertise in medicine, pharmaceuticals, the halal industry, and defense production.
In addition, Royal Jordanian Airlines plans to launch direct flights between Amman and Almaty next year, which is expected to boost contacts between citizens and business communities.
The two sides also expressed interest in expanding cultural and humanitarian ties, including the implementation of joint research projects and partnerships between universities.
Earlier on August 27, Akorda hosted the official welcoming ceremony of His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein.
President Tokayev and the King also held closed-door talks, during which King Abdullah warmly referred to Tokayev as his “dear brother.”
Earlier this year, Tokayev made a historic first official visit to Jordan, where he was welcomed with a state ceremony including the national anthem, an honor guard, and a military salute.
