Tokayev and FIFA President discuss football development in Kazakhstan

Tengrinews.kz – President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with FIFA President Gianni Infantino on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, according to the press service of Akorda.

The Kazakh leader expressed his gratitude to FIFA for supporting the implementation of the FIFA Arena program, aimed at promoting children’s football and developing modern sports infrastructure.

“The Head of State expressed confidence that in cooperation with FIFA, Kazakhstan can become a model for dynamic football development in the region,” the press release noted.

In response, Infantino thanked Tokayev for his attention to football and confirmed FIFA’s readiness to support the implementation of joint projects aimed at improving the level of national football in Kazakhstan.

As a reminder, earlier last week President Tokayev met with Minister of Tourism and Sports Yerbol Myrzabossynov at Akorda and instructed him to accelerate the privatization of football clubs.
