Tengrinews.kz - President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev spoke about unresolved issues that pose a threat to the country’s security during an expanded meeting of law enforcement agencies, citing Akorda.
"Many offenses occur under similar circumstances, driven by the same factors. With proper analysis, they can be prevented in advance. In other words, the system for forecasting and countering criminal threats needs a reset. To do this, the full potential of the Committee for Legal Statistics and Special Accounts must be realized. This body should not just serve as an archive of reports, but become a think tank focused on the early identification and prevention of risks to public safety," said the Head of State.
Tokayev stressed the need to leverage artificial intelligence and big data technologies.
"For this purpose, we can use our new supercomputer, which is currently being prepared for launch. Overall, we need to continue integrating digital technologies and advanced solutions into public safety systems. The relevant ministry should play a key role here. I instruct that work processes be fully digitalized—this will improve efficiency and reduce corruption risks," the President stated.
He also pointed out that AI technologies could help standardize law enforcement practices.
"This would help prevent situations where identical actions are classified in completely different ways, leading to citizens being unjustly drawn into criminal proceedings," Tokayev concluded.
