Tengrinews.kz - President Tokaev has signed a law on diplomatic service issues, according to a statement from Akorda.
The Head of State signed the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Diplomatic Service, International Treaties, and Official Assistance for Development."
The text of the law will be published in the press.
In December 2024, the Senate deputies reviewed and approved this law, which was developed in accordance with the President's decree "On Measures for Bureaucracy Reduction in the State Apparatus."
"The approved law is aimed at further improving the legislation on diplomatic service. In particular, it clarifies issues related to entering diplomatic service, labor, and professional development. It also improves mechanisms for protecting the labor and social rights of diplomats. We believe that the law will contribute to the improvement of the diplomatic service's work and optimize the process of concluding international treaties," said Senate Speaker Maulen Ashimbayev during the discussion.
It was also noted that the new law will change the procedure for language proficiency payments for Kazakhstan's diplomatic staff, with bonuses now being paid only for proficiency in rare languages.
Previously, President Tokayev signed a law ratifying an agreement with France regulating the activities of the French Development Agency in Kazakhstan.
