Tengrinews.kz – On April 21, residents of Astana and eight regions of Kazakhstan were warned of thunderstorms and strong winds; hail is expected in some areas, according to Kazhydromet.
In Astana, a thunderstorm is expected during the day. The wind will shift from southwest to northeast, with occasional gusts reaching 15–20 meters per second.
In the Abai Region, thunderstorms and hail are expected in the northern and central parts during the day. The wind will be southern and southwesterly in the west, north, and center of the region, strengthening to 15–20 m/s with gusts up to 23–28 m/s.
In the Atyrau Region, the wind is expected to be easterly and southeasterly, with gusts of 15–20 m/s in the western part of the region during the day.
In the East Kazakhstan Region, rain and snow are expected at night in the north. Thunderstorms and hail are expected in the north and east during the day. The wind will be southeast and south, strengthening at night in the north, and during the day in the west, north, and east up to 15–20 m/s with gusts up to 25 m/s.
In the Kyzylorda Region, the wind will be easterly and northeasterly, strengthening during the day in the southern part of the region up to 15–20 m/s.
In the Mangystau Region, a dust storm is expected in the west and center during the day. The southeasterly wind will strengthen in these areas up to 15–20 m/s, occasionally reaching 23 m/s.
In the Pavlodar Region, thunderstorms are expected in the south and east during the day. The northwesterly wind will strengthen in the north and south of the region up to 15–20 m/s.
In the North Kazakhstan Region, rain is expected at night, and a thunderstorm is forecasted in the southwest during the day. The northern wind will strengthen at night in the west, south, and east of the region up to 15–20 m/s.
In the mountainous areas of the Turkestan Region, thunderstorms are expected during the day. The northeasterly wind in these areas will reach 15–20 m/s.
