Tengrinews.kz - During his speech at the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week summit, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized the urgent need to address food security, according to Akorda’s press service.

"Innovative approaches are essential to ensure stable food and fertilizer supplies to global markets. As a major exporter of wheat and flour, Kazakhstan aims to further enhance sustainable agricultural methods and technologies," Tokayev stated.

According to the President, a new paradigm of global development is necessary to tackle current challenges—one based on sustainability, fairness, and stability. He proposed a comprehensive system built on three key principles to solve global issues.

"The first principle is ensuring greater accessibility to green financing. The second is expanding international cooperation in technology transfer, technical support, and scientific research. Solar energy, smart agriculture, carbon capture, and AI-driven climate technologies offer a wide range of innovative solutions. The third principle involves creating synergy between climate priorities, economic development, and artificial intelligence, which could account for over 16 percent of global GDP by 2030. This underscores the importance of adopting flexible, tailored approaches to supporting countries' sustainable development goals," Tokayev explained.

In closing, the President expressed hope that the summit would serve as a key milestone in defining global priorities and aligning efforts in sustainable development for the coming decades.

The summit also featured speeches by Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Rwandan President Paul Kagame, Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, President of the International Union for Conservation of Nature Razan Al Mubarak, and other prominent leaders.

President Tokayev arrived in the UAE on January 13 for a working visit.

He was welcomed at Abu Dhabi airport by UAE Vice President Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan and other officials. During his visit, Tokayev held a meeting with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the Qasr Al Shatie Palace. Tokayev emphasized that the UAE remains a key partner for Kazakhstan in the Arab world.

Earlier during his speech, Tokayev unveiled an ambitious strategy focused on sustainable development.
