Prior to the meeting, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev welcomed the high-ranking guests at the Palace of Independence. Notably, Kazakhstan holds the chairmanship of the EAEU bodies this year, including the Eurasian Economic Commission Council, the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, and the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.

According to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's address on December 31, 2023, the key priorities of the chairmanship include the development of artificial intelligence for economic integration, strengthening the EAEU's logistical potential, the digitalization of industry and the agro-industrial complex, reducing barriers in mutual trade, and expanding economic cooperation with third countries.

Earlier today, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also participated in the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in a restricted format.
