Tengrinews.kz - Mazhilisman Elnur Beisembaev commented on the proposal of Amanat party deputies to conduct a scientific study on the impact of a single time zone on Kazakhstanis by March 2025.

On the sidelines of the Mazhilis, journalists asked the deputy how realistic it is to complete this study in three months instead of the several years announced earlier.

"We believe that it is more than possible. Firstly, we have conducted a preliminary analysis until today. Yesterday, all three ministries said this because they conducted certain studies of their own," the Mazhilis member said.

According to Elnur Beisembaev, this issue is being discussed very actively in society.

"That is, we already see that independent experts, sociologists, and so on have joined in, who are already conducting certain studies in an independent field. We believe that this will be enough. We have set certain conditions for the government that they must complete the study in three months. And we must now discuss this position in a substantive, high-quality manner," he explained.

Journalists also asked the Mazhilis member about the position of the Amanat party on the issue of changing the time.

"Yesterday we held a faction meeting, we said that this decision has not been analyzed, has not been finalized. There is a big public outcry. (...) A number of regions, about eight, are expressing their specific... (opinions - ed.)," he added.

Deputy Beisembaev stated that in this regard, Amanat proposes to further study, finalize and adopt an acceptable decision that will suit everyone.

Earlier, the eGov mobile app offered Kazakhstanis a survey with a series of questions about the time zone change: what time zone is relevant for them, what to do with the already established time, what they lack time for during the day, and so on.

However, later the survey on time zone changes disappeared from the app.

Why survey on time change disappeared from eGov app

Recall: On the night of February 29 to March 1, Kazakhstan switched to a single time zone. Three months later, on June 7, a petition to cancel the time change collected the required 50 thousand signatures.
