Tenge strengthens against dollar in Kazakhstan

According to trading results on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) on March 17, the weighted average exchange rate of the dollar settled at 499.04 tenge, dropping 5.68 tenge compared to the previous session. Meanwhile, the official exchange rate set by the National Bank for March 17 stands at 505.15 tenge per dollar.

According to kurs.kz, exchange offices in Almaty are currently buying dollars at an average of 498.32 tenge and selling at 500.58 tenge. In Astana, the rates are 497.16 tenge for buying and 503.16 tenge for selling.

Meanwhile, in Russia, the ruble has also strengthened, with the exchange rate falling below 84 rubles per dollar for the first time since August 27, 2024. As of 2:29 P.M. Astana time, the dollar was trading at 83.66 rubles, down 1.74 rubles from the previous session.
