Tengrinews.kz - Extreme cold temperatures of up to -35°C are expected in parts of Kazakhstan, according to the latest weather forecast for December 24, 25, and 26.
Snowfall is predicted for most of the country on December 24, and for the western, northwestern, and eastern regions on December 25-26, as cyclonic activity moves through. In the southwest, mixed precipitation including rain and snow is expected, while the southern regions will experience mostly dry weather under the influence of an anticyclone. Across the country, there will be blowing snow, fog, strong winds, and icy conditions in the west.
"Temperatures at night will drop as low as -20°C to -35°C in central and eastern regions, while no significant changes are expected elsewhere," the forecast states.
Earlier, meteorologists shared their outlook for the winter of 2024-2025 in Kazakhstan, predicting overall temperatures within the climatic norm but with precipitation levels exceeding the average. Periods of dry weather and abnormally low temperatures remain possible.
