Tengrinews.kz - A street in Astana will be named in honor of Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced during a joint statement with Bulgarian President Rumen Radev.
The two leaders emphasized their commitment to strengthening cultural, humanitarian, educational, and interregional ties between Kazakhstan and Bulgaria.
In a gesture of mutual recognition, it was noted that in 2018, a street in Sofia was named after Astana. Now, Astana will reciprocate by naming one of its streets after the Bulgarian capital.
Earlier today, President of Bulgaria Rumen Radev was welcomed at Akorda as part of his official visit to Astana.
During the closed-format talks, Rumen Radev expressed his gratitude to the Head of State for the warm reception. He emphasized his high regard for the level of partnership between the two countries and expressed hopes for expanded cooperation in all areas of the bilateral agenda.
