Smoking mixtures equated to drugs in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev signed a law that puts smoking mixtures into the catagory of drugs, the President's official website reported. Nazarbayev signed amendments into the Law on drugs, psychotropic substances, precursors and measures of countering their illegal trafficking and abuse. On May 11 deputies of the Majilis (Lower Chamber of Parliament) supported the draft law that included smoking mixtures into the list of narcotic and psychotropic substances controlled in Kazakhstan. Earlier their distribution was banned only by a decree of Kazakhstan chief sanitary doctor.
