Tengrinews.kz - Sirens sounded across Kazakhstan, what happened.
As reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, on Thursday, November 21, at 11:00 a.m., electronic sirens, siren-voice devices, and the interception of television and radio channels occurred in all regions of Kazakhstan. This event is being conducted to train citizens on how to properly respond to the warning signal "Attention everyone!"
"From November 21 to 22, Kazakhstan will host the republican command and staff exercise ‘Kys-2024'. It is aimed at testing the readiness of the governing bodies and forces of the state civil defense system to prevent and eliminate emergency situations in the winter. The exercise is being managed by the republican headquarters located in Kokshetau," the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations advises the population to remain calm and remember that the signal is part of a training exercise, and the activation of sirens is a part of planned activities to increase the readiness of the population and services for emergencies.
Earlier, we reported that on October 31, Almaty residents received an alert about upcoming exercises. On Android phones, the notification was accompanied by a loud sound signal and a message on the screen.
