According to the information, two residents of the region, aged 24 and 25, one of whom lived in the village of Zhambyl, the second in the village of Dostyk in the Karatal district, organized the activation and sale of SIM cards.
Using the application of one of the mobile operators, they activated up to 100 SIM cards daily, which were sold through Telegram channels at a price of 500 to 1 500 tenge. These cards were registered in the WhatsApp messenger and used to deceive Kazakhstanis.
"During the search, 17 mobile phones, two laptops, one modem and about 1000 SIM cards were seized from the detainees," the statement said.
At the same time, the police continue the investigation to establish all the details of the scheme and possible connections of the detainees with other participants in the criminal operations.
Earlier, Vice Minister of Digital Development Askhat Orazbek explained how many SIM cards one individual in Kazakhstan will be able to register.
