Shymkent resident swallows 26 ballpoint pens on a dare

Tengrinews.kz – A local resident was urgently hospitalized in Shymkent after swallowing 26 ballpoint pens on a dare, according to Almaty.tv.

The 38-year-old man called an ambulance complaining of severe abdominal pain and was taken to the hospital. Doctors had to perform a two-hour operation to remove all the foreign objects from his stomach — the bet nearly cost him his life.

“An endoscopic operation was performed. All foreign objects were removed without incisions. The patient is now in the surgical department, and his condition is stable,” said endoscopist Mukhamedali Tolegenov.
