Thunderstorms, hail, and fog on the way
A northern anticyclone will dominate the weather pattern across most of the country on August 2, 3, and 4, bringing rain, thunderstorms, hail, and squalls. Heavy rainfall is expected in the north, east, central regions, and in the mountainous areas of the southeast. Only the western part of the country will remain dry and hot.
Forecasters also warn of strong winds across the country, with dust storms likely in the southwest and southern regions. Fog is expected in the north and east during the night and early morning hours.
Temperature extremes across regions
In western Kazakhstan, daytime temperatures will rise from +30...+37°C to as high as +36...+41°C. On August 4, southern regions could see highs reaching +40°C.
Meanwhile, cooler air will move into the north, east, and central regions, with nighttime temperatures dropping to +5...+13°C and daytime highs ranging from +15 to +20°C.

Earlier, Kazhydromet released its forecast for August 2025. Most of the country is expected to experience moderately hot weather, while temperatures in the south and southwest are projected to exceed seasonal norms.
