Sharp temperature drop: storm warning issued nationwide

In Astana, snow, black ice, and fog are expected at night and in the morning, along with blowing snow. Southwesterly wind with gusts of 15–20 m/s, at times up to 23 m/s.

In Shymkent, precipitation is expected, at times heavy (rain and snow). Periods of black ice, ground blizzard, and fog are forecast. Southwesterly wind shifting to northeasterly with gusts of 15–20 m/s.

In North Kazakhstan region, a sharp drop in air temperature is expected: at night and during the day to –12…–17°C, in the west of the region to –20°C; on 12 February, a further decrease at night to –22…–27°C, in the east of the region to –30°C. In Petropavlovsk, temperatures will sharply fall at night and during the day to –14…–16°C, and on 12 February further down to –23…–25°C at night.

In Mangystau region, black ice is expected. In Aktau, black ice is also forecast.

In Abai region, precipitation, blowing snow, and black ice are expected, with heavy precipitation (rain and snow) during the day in the north, south, and central areas. In Semey, precipitation (rain and snow), blowing snow, and black ice are forecast. Southwesterly wind with gusts of 15–20 m/s.

In Karaganda region, snow, blowing snow, and black ice are expected at night; in the north and east of the region, heavy snow is forecast, and in the south, mixed precipitation (rain and snow).
