Tengrinews.kz - Kazhydromet has issued a weather forecast for February 6, 7, and 8, warning of extreme cold temperatures across Kazakhstan.

According to the forecast, most of the country will experience dry weather due to the influence of a large anticyclone. However, starting February 8, atmospheric frontal systems will affect the weather in the northern, northwestern, and southern regions, bringing light snow with blowing snow in the north and northwest, as well as mixed precipitation, including rain and snow, in the south. Fog and strong winds are also expected in various regions.

"A gradual drop in temperatures is expected, with nighttime lows reaching -10 to -15°C in the west, -17 to -25°C in the northwest, -17 to -28°C in the north and central regions, and as low as -18 to -35°C in the east," the statement said.

Earlier, forecasters clarified the weather forecast for winter 2024/2025 in Kazakhstan. It is noted that in general, the winter temperature regime is expected to be within the climatic norm with precipitation exceeding the long-term norm. However, periods with cessation of precipitation and abnormally low air temperatures are not excluded.
