Severe cold temperatures will reach southern Kazakhstan

Tengrinews.kz – Kazhydromet meteorologists presented the weather forecast for February 26, 27, and 28.

A widespread cold anticyclone will continue to affect most of Kazakhstan, with no significant changes in the temperature expected. The weather will generally be dry.

"Only in the southern regions are precipitation and sometimes heavy rain expected, with increasing wind and icy conditions," said the meteorologists.

By the end of the period, the southern regions of Kazakhstan will experience a temperature drop at night to -10 to -17°C, and during the day to -2 to -10°C. In the Turkestan region, temperatures at night will drop to -2 to -12°C, while daytime temperatures will be around 2 to 7°C.

Fog is expected across the country.

February surprises

Earlier, meteorologists reported that February in Kazakhstan would be warmer than usual, with moderate amounts of precipitation. The average temperature in most of the country will be 1–2 degrees above the climatic norm. The temperature will remain around the norm in the southeast of the republic.
