Several schools in Kazakhstan will switch to remote learning

An official announcement was made on Tuesday evening by the City Center for Monitoring and Operational Response of the Akimat of Astana.
"Due to worsening weather conditions, on January 22, 2025, students in grades 0-9 of the first shift will transition to remote learning," the publication stated.
Additionally, remote learning for primary school students in northern Kazakhstan and in Karaganda will be organized on Wednesday, January 22. The Department of Emergency Situations of the North Kazakhstan Region and the Department of Education of Karaganda have issued notifications about this.
"In the North Kazakhstan Region, due to the temperature dropping to -26°C, on January 22, 2025, lessons for students in grades 0-4 will be held remotely," according to the press release from the department.
The department asked parents and students to take this information into account and adhere to safety measures in cold conditions.
Meanwhile, the Department of Education in Karaganda explained that remote learning will be organized for students in urban schools for grades 0-4 of the first shift.
In Temirtau, Shakhtinsk, and the Abai district, students in grades 0-11 of the first shift will study online.
Students in the first shift in several schools in Abai, East Kazakhstan, Kostanay, and Zhambyl regions have also been switched to remote learning due to the weather.
According to the press service of the Akimat of the Abai region, this includes grades 1-9 of the 21st school in the Beskaragay district, grades 1-4 in eight schools, grades 1-9 in four schools, and grades 1-11 in two schools in the Borodulikhinsky district, as well as grades 1-4 in five schools and grades 1-9 in two schools in the Zharym district.
Additionally, remote learning has been arranged for grades 1-11 in one school and grades 1-4 in another school in the Zhanasemey district, grades 1-11 in all schools in the Ayagoz district, and grades 1-9 in all schools in Semey. Other educational institutions in other districts and cities will operate as usual.
Meanwhile, as reported by YK-news.kz, due to icy conditions, students in the first shift in schools in Ust-Kamenogorsk will also study remotely.
At the same time, according to the Telegram channel "Nasha Gazeta," students in the Uzunkolsky and Mendykarynsky districts of Kostanay region will switch to remote learning.
The Department of Emergency Situations in Zhambyl region informed that students in the first shift in Taraz, Jambyl, Zhualyn, and Bayzak districts will also transition to online learning.
