Tengrinews.kz - Serbia has extradited a criminal wanted by Kazakhstan, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) press service.

The suspect, who had been placed on an international wanted list for large-scale fraud, was apprehended in Serbia in September 2023 at the request of Kazakhstan’s National Central Bureau of Interpol. On January 9, the 45-year-old man was extradited to Kazakhstan by the Prosecutor General’s Office.

According to the MIA, in 2017, the suspect posted an advertisement offering special equipment at a low price. A Kazakh buyer signed a contract with him and transferred over 43 million tenge, only to be defrauded.

Earlier, the MIA reported the detention of nearly 30 criminal authorities in Kazakhstan.
