SCO summit completed with signing Astana Declaration

The anniversary SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) summit finished with signing of the Astana Declaration on June 15, 2011, Tengrinews.kz reports from The Independence Palace in Astana where the meeting of the Council of Head of SCO member-states was held. The meeting finished by signing of the Astana Declaration of the Organization's 10th anniversary signed by Nursultan Nazarbayev, Hu Jintao, Roza Otunbayeva, Dmitry Medvedev, Emomali Rakhmon and Islam Karimov. "The Council of Heads of SCO Decides to approve: the Antidrug Strategy for 2011-2016, the Acton Plan for implementation of the antidrg strategy, memorandum of obligations of the country applying to obtain the status of the SCO member-state, reports of the SCO Secretary General on the Organization's activities in the past year, reports of the Regional Anti-Terrorist SCO body on its activities in 2010. An message timed to the 10th anniversary of the Organization was accepted at the end of the meeting,” the final press-conference of the presidents said. Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev announced that SCO chairmanship is now officially transferred to China.
