Almaty-based International Academy of Business (IAB) plans to launch School of Kazakh Brides. The course is designed to raise cultural awareness, cultivate and encourage Kazakh national traditions related to family life, BNews.kz reports. “The idea is to breed family-related traditions and customs of the Kazakhs into would-be wives. Many “advanced” young Kazakh ladies obtained degrees from foreign universities, but lack knowledge of the Kazakh traditions. I believe such courses will be demanded. We plan to introduce them next year”, IAB President Assylbek Kozhakhmetov said. Many of traditions and customs of the Kazakh people have been forgotten throughout the past century when Kazakhstan was part of the USSR. Real sovereignty is just now being reestablished in Kazakhstan, and these abandoned traditions are being rediscovered by the Kazakh people. This year Kazakhstan is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its independence from the USSR.
