Tengrinews.kz - More than 25,000 workers in Kazakhstan’s water sector will see their salaries rise in 2025, according to Lazzat Zhusipova, Director of the Department of Science and Innovation at the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation.
Speaking at a government briefing, Zhusipova noted that recent amendments to the Law on Natural Monopolies are aimed at improving wages for employees in the water supply and wastewater sectors.
“From July 1, wages have already increased for staff at Kazvodkhoz. In total, over 25,000 workers providing regulated water services will benefit from the changes. Depending on the region and statistical data, salaries are expected to rise by an average of 35–50%, aligning with pay levels in the thermal and electric power industries,” she said.
She added that the raise is expected to reduce staff turnover and attract more qualified professionals to the sector.
The legislative amendments will officially take effect on September 1.
