Tengrinews.kz - Two citizens of Kazakhstan were extradited from Russia, according to the Prosecutor General's Office.
As prosecutors reported, the criminals committed the attack in January 2023 in Shymkent, having conspired with three accomplices to kill an acquaintance based on personal hostility.
"To implement their plan, the suspects, armed with a pistol, metal rods, and bats, wearing gloves and masks, taking advantage of the night time, came to the victim's house. Having broken the windows, they entered the house, where they inflicted numerous bodily injuries on the victim with particular cruelty.
After which the suspects beat up other people in the house and, having made sure that the victim had stopped showing signs of life, fled the scene," the Prosecutor General's Office said.
The victim died in the ambulance from injuries incompatible with life.
Two suspects were detained on the spot and sentenced to various types of punishment, and three managed to leave the country, as a result of which they were put on the international wanted list.
In May 2024, one of the accomplices was extradited from a neighboring state and convicted.
In July last year, the remaining two wanted men were detained in the Moscow region and extradited to Kazakhstan.
The suspects are in a pre-trial detention center.
"For committing the crimes they are charged with, the punishment is from 15 to 20 years of imprisonment or life imprisonment. Thus, all persons involved in committing the said crimes have been exposed," the Prosecutor General's Office reported.
Earlier, Belarus extradited a suspect in a major fraud to Kazakhstan. According to the Prosecutor General's Office, the man, acting in a group of people in Turkestan from January 2022 to August 2023, under the pretext of providing assistance in obtaining gratuitous cash grants for starting a business, stole money from 13 citizens, causing them a total of damages in excess of 10 million tenge.
