The decision made in the referendum takes effect from the date of the official announcement of the results. It is mandatory across Kazakhstan and does not require further validation through acts.

"Thus, the citizens of Kazakhstan have made a positive decision on the important issue of constructing a nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan during the republican referendum held on October 6, 2024," Abdirov stated.

On October 7, preliminary results of the referendum were announced, indicating that 71.12% voted in favor, with 2,452,071 votes against.
