Tengrinews.kz - A video of a rare predator, the Persian leopard, spotted in the Ustyurt State Nature Reserve, has appeared online.
The video was published on the official Instagram page of the Forestry and Wildlife Committee. It is specified that the staff of the Ustyurt State Nature Reserve have completed another check of the camera traps that were installed as part of an international project to study and protect the Persian leopard.
"From October 29 to December 21, 2024, camera traps recorded the Persian leopard four times on the territory of the reserve. This data confirms that the Ustyurt Reserve continues to be an important habitat for this rare species, which is on the verge of extinction," the committee noted.
