Rain, snow and frost: Kazakhstan warned of sudden weather change

Unstable weather in Kazakhstan

In the coming days, the country will experience unsettled weather. Atmospheric fronts will bring rain, thunderstorms, and in some places even hail. In the north and northwest, precipitation may fall as rain and snow at night.

Where and when to expect heavy precipitation

• April 12: Kostanay region
• April 13-14: Akmola region
• April 14: Pavlodar, Karaganda, East Kazakhstan, Almaty, Zhetysu, Abai, and Ulytau regions

Fog to blanket several regions

"Fog is expected across the country. During the night of April 12, the West Kazakhstan and Atyrau regions will be affected. From April 12-14, fog and ground frost are forecast in the Aktobe region, and from April 13 -14, in the Kostanay, Akmola, and North Kazakhstan regions, with temperatures dropping to -1 to -3°C," Kazhydromet meteorologists reported.

Temperature outlook in Kazakhstan

• West: rising from 13–20°C to 17–23°C
• Southwest: rising from 15–20°C to 22–27°C
• Northwest: rising from 8–15°C to 12–20°C
• North and center: dropping from 20–25°C to 10–15°C
• East: dropping from 23–29°C to 12–20°C
• South: dropping from 28–33°C to 23–28°C
• Southeast: dropping from 23–33°C to 18–25°C
