Qatar holds the status of a dialogue partner within the SCO, a designation formalized by a memorandum signed in Tashkent in 2022.

Last year marked the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Qatar. Qatar remains a significant political and economic partner for Kazakhstan within the Arab world.
By the end of 2023, bilateral trade between the two nations had increased by nearly 50 percent. Both governments are committed to achieving mutual trade volumes of $500 million as part of their strategic objectives.
