Tengrinews.kz - On November 14, senators reviewed and approved the draft law "On the Ratification of the Agreement between the government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the government of the State of Qatar on Military Cooperation."
The draft law was presented to colleagues by Senator Galiaskar Sarybaev.
"Ratifying the agreement will enable the two nations to cooperate in military education, training of military personnel, military medicine, military science, and cultural and sporting events in the military sector," he stated during the chamber session.
The agreement also includes provisions for conducting joint exercises, consulting on peacekeeping operations, and mutually agreeing on the use of airspace and military ranges for training events and equipment transit.
The agreement is valid for five years and will automatically renew for successive five-year periods unless one party notifies the other of its intent not to extend at least six months before the current term expires.
Earlier, the agreement was ratified by deputies of the Mazhilis.
