The President heard a report on the state of law in the country and the results of work in priority areas of supervisory activities.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was informed about the crime situation and measures aimed at ensuring the constitutional rights of citizens in the criminal law sphere. The prosecutor's office stopped more than 32 thousand decisions at the pre-trial investigation stage that contradicted the Criminal Procedure Code, prevented the unjustified involvement of 4 thousand people in the criminal orbit, and released more than 1500 illegally detained people. Following the protests of the Prosecutor General, the Supreme Court improved the situation of 150 people, of whom 10 were fully acquitted.
According to Berik Asylov, in the socio-economic sphere, the violated rights of 81 thousand entrepreneurs, 979 thousand pensioners, people from socially vulnerable groups of the population and others were restored. No violations of the labor rights of 123 thousand workers were allowed. Child support debts in the amount of 4.6 billion tenge were collected in favor of children.
The President was informed that over the past year, the state was compensated for damages in the amount of over 627 billion tenge.
"Prosecutor's assistance was received by 800 investors, whose contribution to the economy amounted to over 12 trillion tenge. According to the prosecutor's office's acts, 136 officials were held accountable for violations committed. Prosecutors refused to approve 712 decisions of state bodies regarding investors. The effective use of the ‘prosecutor's filter’ in supporting investment projects was noted. The Digital Investment Platform, which allows monitoring the progress of the National Pool projects, is actively functioning. The Head of State heard a report on the progress of the investigation of a number of high-profile criminal cases," the Akorda statement said.
The Prosecutor General reported on the widespread introduction of digital technologies in the fight against crime, in particular, in the capture of wanted persons using "smart" video cameras (the number of wanted persons has been reduced by 9.4%).
"Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed to continue work on the practical implementation of the principle of ‘Law and Order,’ ensuring legality in all areas. He also emphasized the importance of coordinating the activities of law enforcement and other government agencies to combat fraud, combat drug trafficking, and prevent offenses in public places," the press service of Akorda notes.
