Tengrinews.kz – Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited the new building of the Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The relocation of the archive from Almaty to the capital is carried out on the instructions of the Head of State, according to Akorda.
This is the first archive in Central Asia, which will function not only as a repository of the country's documentary heritage, but also as an educational and scientific-methodological center.

"The specialized building includes archive storage facilities, a laboratory complex, an interactive exhibition hall, a reading room, offices and administrative areas. 24 archive storage facilities are intended for storing documents, audiovisual documentation, an insurance fund on microfilm and electronic documents," the press service reported.

The Presidential Archives widely present documents on the political history of Kazakhstan since 1918, reflecting the formation of a sovereign state, foreign and domestic policy, international relations, processes of economic transformation and the socio-cultural development of the country.
The Head of State also got acquainted with the progress of the reconstruction of the Kazakh National University of Arts named after K. Baiseitova.

The President was informed that thanks to the renovation, the area of the main building of the educational institution increased by 10 thousand square meters, amounting to about 38 thousand square meters.

The modernization of the building included not only the expansion of space, but also the creation of new specialized auditoriums. One of the key innovations was the opening of a large concert hall for 1100 seats, allowing for large-scale events. In addition, the building now has a chamber hall for academic music, rehearsal studios, galleries for exhibitions of students and invited artists.
