Tengrinews.kz — President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has arrived in Japan on an official visit.
The Akorda press service reported this on Wednesday, December 17.
At Tokyo’s Haneda International Airport, the President of Kazakhstan was welcomed by Japan’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ayano Kunimitsu.
Tokayev is expected to hold talks on Thursday, December 18, with Japan’s Emperor Naruhito and Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi.
It was previously reported that the Kazakh leader will also take part in the Central Asia–Japan summit.
Recall that at the end of August, Tokayev received Japan’s Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya in Astana, who was then heading the foreign policy department. The interlocutors discussed the current state and prospects for developing the Kazakh–Japanese expanded strategic partnership in trade and economic, investment, transit and transport, and cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as cooperation through international organizations.
During the conversation, they also exchanged views on pressing issues on the international and regional agenda.
