Kazakhstan’s President Nursultan Nazarbayev will take a train ride in the Almaty underground August 2, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing the President’s Press Service.Railing of the first stretch of the Almaty underground was completed early June. Afterwards, carriage rolling stock has been tested in between four stations – Raimbek, Zhibek Zholy, Almaly and Abai. The first stretch is to be inaugurated in December before celebrating the 20 anniversary of the nation’s independence.“I believe the launch of the first stretch could be a good present for people for the Independence Day”, President had said when visiting Raimbek station still under construction. The first 8.56-km-long line comprises 7 stations.
